Cologne at Christmas was lovely - and would definitely recommend it.
We managed a short break between dialysis, and did the market, and up the 'tall building' as you have to do in every city.
We got the train there, very much enjoyed the experience, seemed so much more relaxed than air travel, except the station was a bit chilly!
